Working with CARAS

This week we worked with young refugees from CARAS - Community Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers.

12 young people were involved in a history workshop and learning about oral history, hands-on camera and sound skills for documentary film-making and interviewing techniques. They developed a set of questions which they used for their interviews both on location in Tooting Market and in the 'studio'.

By the end of the week the young refugees were adept at setting up a camera for professional capture, recording good sound and conducting interviews to get the best out of the subject. The excellent quality of their interviews is testament to the skills they were so keen to learn.
