Another Event Screening
The Journey’s film continues to be shown at
community events throughout the borough. On Wednesday 24th October there was a
special screening at The Furzedown Project where a packed audience watched the
film and participated in a discussion about the themes raised by the film. We
have worked closely with the Furzedown Project throughout the Journeys Project
and several members of the audience were closely involved and interviewed by
the young people so it was great to see the final film at the centre. The film
was well received with some very interesting points coming up in the discussion
after the film about the experiences of immigrants across the time period
covered and also how class might have affected that experience. There was
discussion of English language learning, how younger family members supported
elders with translations. Thanks to all of those who attended.
